Please enjoy Ramadan but follow the guidance on social distancing. If you have a medical condition such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease or lung disease, or you are on medication, or pregnant, or elderly, or in the highest risk group that are asked to stay at home for 12 weeks, please choose alternative options to fasting, in order to protect yourself from Covid-19. The NHS Muslim Network and the British Islamic Medical Association are advising that missed fasts can be made up at a later date in the year.
The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal.
If you have travelled to the UK from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Cambodia, Northern Italy, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam in the last 14 days and have a cough, high temperature, shortness of breath, or have come in close contact with someone with confirmed corona virus, do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Call 111, stay indoors, self-isolate and avoid close contact with other people.

We would like to reassure all current and potential patients that Dr Shantir’s Practice will remain open as usual and that Forest Road Medical Centre will not be closing. Our neighbouring practice has put forward a proposal to close their branch practice at the centre and consolidate at their Wood Street branch. Our activities will remain unaffected
